For an electronically filed current-year return,
refund information can generally be available about
24 hours after the IRS receives the return.
Prior-year e-filed returns generally take about
3–4 days, while paper returns generally take about
4 weeks before refund information is available.
🚨 DON'T PANIC IF IT DOESN'T MOVE IMMEDIATELY.
The IRS updates refund information periodically.
Most refunds are issued within 21 days when returns are
e-filed and there are no processing delays, but some
returns require additional review and can take longer.
